How to order

"IKOI" makes kimonos on an order basis.
We tailor the kimono to fit right on your body. Contact us for any tailoring requests.


1. To order a kimono, go to the item details page and click on the "Add to Cart" button of an item.

2. If you want to tailor the kimono to your needs, click on the "Tailoring" button on the left. The Tailoring Menu will appear.

3. Click on the "Add to Cart" button to put an item you want to order in the shopping cart.

New customer? Register here!

4. IKOI tailors your kimono based on the information you register at our site. If you are a new customer, register your information from the shopping cart screen. If you are a return customer, sign in on the shopping cart screen and continue the ordering process.

5. Enter your height, bust, waist, hip, yukitake* size in the "Your opinion and request" box on the order confirmation screen. Enter your weight if you want a more accurate tailoring.

* The yukitake size is the length from the neck (at the spine) to the wrist (see the figure below). To know your yukitake size, spread your arms at 45 degrees angle and measure the distance from the spine to your wrist (through the shoulder). When measuring, you must not measure the distance between these two points but along your body line.

6. Sign in using your password or register your name on the shopping cart screen and proceed to the Order Menu.

7. We will confirm your size when we send you a confirmation mail. Please reply to it with your size information and we will tailor the kimono based on it.

Tailoring schedule

It takes approximately 30 to 40 days to tailor a kimono.

It takes approximately 14 days to tailor an obi.

Lining schedule

We can tailor a hakke (lining) for the "komon", "tsumugi", "washable kimono", "Oshima-tsumugi roll cloth", and "Habutaeji (which is made-to-order)."
Select the color for the lining from the color samples below. Contact us if you have any request on its color.
