Usually, a silk cotton cloth uses about 3,700 to 3,800 warps in 1 shaku (about 30cm) width but a Habutae uses about 7,500 warps in 1 shaku width. Those extra warps give a gentle and beautiful fringe on a surface of the cloth.
There is even a saying that goes "the beauty of silk begins and ends with Habutae" to honor its finest quality.

The word "Shikou-en" means a "purple scent garden." Therefore, Habutae "Shikou-en" is a brocatelle with a faintly dyed tint block pattern. If Habutae is the king of silk, then "Shikou-en" is the king of white silk.
This silk cloth has a small flower repeated pattern separately woven with special thread that is not stained with a dye so the flower pattern stands out softly on the solid color silk cloth.
